I’ve always been a fan of the Nissan family whether it’s the classic Datsun, the Nissan brand itself, or the luxurious side with Infiniti. In recent years, the Infiniti FX35 and FX45 have been my favorite affordable vehicles from the company. Infiniti was doing a good job at building its brand but then recently screwed everything up by changing the names of all of their vehicles. I’m sure they know what they are doing but seems like a silly idea to me. The FX series is now referred to as the QX70 and Infiniti has dropped the V8 (offered in the former FX45).
I see plenty of the Infiniti QX70 models on the streets but I rarely get to see any of them modified. AHG-Sports’ is now offering a cosmetic package for the Infiniti QX70 model called the LR3. This aggressive body-kit includes a new front bumper with daytime running lights, redesigned side skirts, fender extensions, a new rear bumper with fog lights, and a roof spoiler.
This aerodynamics package looks fantastic but the problem is the price. According to the company, the cost of the LR3 package is approximately $19,200! Ouch! If it makes you feel any better, that does include painting of the parts, installation, and registration. Now I know why I hardly ever see any modified QX70 models!
If money is not an issue for you, AHG-Sports also offers a suspension kit which will lower the ride height by 25mm for $1,400, 22-inch allow wheels for $5,865, and a sports exhaust system for $5,635.
Now if you are interested in getting more power, the German tuner also has a ECU tune which will increase the power from 325 horsepower to 414 horsepower for $1,410! With these prices, I would skip the aerodynamics package and go straight for the ECU tune which is worth the price.
