British car tuners, Kahn Design, have done their “thing” to yet another Land Rover Defender, and we ain’t complainin’. They had previously tuned a Defender with the same name, the Defender XS 90, but this latest iteration takes the XS 90 to another level with the addition of the Chelsea wide track package and Fuji White and Matte Pearl Grey paint scheme.
I’m a fan of any Land Rover Defender, and the Defender XS 90 2.2 TDCI is no exception. I like it a lot more than the original XS 90 because of the wide fenders and the paint scheme really sets it apart.
The first thing you’ll notice on the outside is the addition of the wide fenders, in matte grey. The front grill has been replaced with horizontal bars and new headlight surrounds give this SUV a very modern look; the headlights have been replaced with xenon crosshair lights. The XS 90 wide track rides on 16” 1948 Defend alloy wheels, produced by Kahn Design. The exterior upgrades are finished off with Kahn twin crosshair exhaust system.
The interior is almost the same as the one found in the original XS 90 with the addition of Harris Tweed inserts in the seats. The engine hasn’t been tweaked and is a 2.2 liter turbo diesel unit producing 120 HP and 265 lb-ft of torque.
