The Audi R8 was first introduced in 2006, hard to believe it’s been so long, and over the years the car has seen various upgrades and even a spyder version. For 2013 the German sports car supposedly sees a full-on refresh, although the 2013 R8 would look very similar to the previous model to the average man. You’ll have to look really closely at the car to notice the new LED headlights and taillights, and the revised front and rear bumpers.
The 2013 Audi R8 is still offered with two engine choices, a 4.2 liter V8 that produces 424 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque and a 5.2 liter V10 producing 518 HP and 391 lb-ft of torque. Both of these engines produce the same power as the previous model but now they’re mated to 7-speed S tronic dual-clutch automatic transmissions instead of 6-speed gearboxes.
There is a new model called the R8 V10 Plus that replaces the R8 GT, this model will be offered as a coupe only and is powered by a 5.2 liter V10 engine producing 542 HP and 398 lb-ft of torque. The cars will go on sale in later this year in Europe and early next year in North America.
