The snake is back and it’s back with a vengeance. The 2013 Dodge SRT Viper was officially unveiled at the New York Auto show, although Dodge had been showing teaser photos for a while on Facebook.
Although the exterior styling is more of an evolution of the previous generation Viper, the interior is where the Viper finally looks as good as its competition. But that’s not what this car is about, the Viper is all about foot to the floor, tire shredding action and the new car shouldn’t disappoint in that department.
The 2013 SRT Viper is powered by an 8.4 liter V10 engine that produces 640 horsepower and 600 pound-feet of torque. Owners of this beast are going to need to establish a good relationship with their local tire shop!
The interior on the 2013 SRT Viper is quite luxurious and could be mistaken for a European offering, which I’m guessing Fiat had something to do with. The center console is nice and simple and houses an 8.4” LCD screen that controls all the bells and whistles. The dashboard is covered in soft touch material and the seats are made by Sabelt, the same company that supplies Ferrari with their seats, and they look very supportive. The all-new Viper also comes with cup-holders, finally, and I like the “Oh Shit” bar placed to the left of the passenger compartment, because we know this thing will be sideways most of the time and the poor passengers need to grab onto something.
Dodge hasn’t provided 0 – 60 mph times or the top speed but we’re sure these numbers won’t disappoint. We’re also not sure what the 2013 SRT Viper will cost, we’ll update this post when those figures are available.
yes they have. tops out at 206 mph and starts at 100 grand for the base viper and 120 for the GTS
GoD is REAL!
After seeing the silver viper GTS from the old school TV series “Viper” on the streets of Miami as a boy, this car inspired me to dream big.
The effect of a creation.
I must own one!
You know, I absolutely loved this show when I was a teenager. Who wouldn’t want a car with so many gadgets?
