3 awesome things to do on the Cape Breton Trail

The Cabot trail in Cape Breton is one of the greatest opportunities for travelers throughout Nova Scotia. This driving trail is along the shore side and there are plenty of fun stops to make along the way. If you are planning a trip along the Cabot trail, here are some of the top 3 stops you need to make:

Whale cove cemetery
This is a commonly missed feature along the trail which is close to Margaree Harbour. There is a small sign on the left as you are heading down the Cabot Trail. This offers a beautiful view of an old stone cemetery as well as a stunning beach off in the distance. Whale cove cemetery is aptly named as well. Many people often have whale sightings here!

Cape Breton Highlands lookout
For a postcard worthy photo or an excellent spot to take in the majesty of the trail, you have got to head into the Cape Breton Highlands national Park. Pulled over to the first outlet you see and you can take a quick stop at the Highlands lookout. This is one of the most breathtaking views along the trail and it is a spot you
cannot miss.

Skyline Trailhead
It is likely that you’ll spot this trail entrance quite easily as there’s going to be dozens of cars parked along the entrance. This hiking trail is a great place to spend some time along the trail. The full route takes around 2.5 to 3 hours to complete and it is one of the best places to see moose in the wild along the Cabot Trail.

Be sure to take in these three amazing experiences during your time in Cape Breton especially if you are planning on taking the Cabot Trail trip!
