Have you ever picked up a screwdriver and thought, man I wish there was a more efficient screwdriver? Neither have I. The Spinner Drive is one of those inventions that you didn’t think you needed but when you saw it in action, you say “where were you all my life?”
The Spinner Drive is currently being crowdfunded on kickstarter.com, it’s an all-in-one screwdriver that comes in a stylish compact case and the screwdriver itself looks very modern. The standard version of the Spinner Drive is constructed out of S2 Tool Steel, which is known for its wear resistance and coated with manganese phosphate, which provides protection against corrosion and wear. The Tough Edition comes with SUS420 stainless steel bits that are coated with titanium nitride. For storage, the Spinner Drive comes with an EVA case with foam cutouts for the screwdriver and bits and a bit storage cylinder that can house 9 bits at a time.
Why buy a Spinner Drive?
The Spinner Drive is a screwdriver that replaces multiple screwdrivers, it replaces screwdrivers that you may need to work on small stuff that requires precision, like changing the caseback on a watch. It also replaces a screwdriver that you’ll use when high torque is needed.
The top of the Spinner Drive is placed with ball bearings, for precise screwing, simply put a finger on the top and spin the lower part of the screwdriver, this allows for fast rotation. For situations where maximum torque is required, the Spinner Drive comes with a Spinner Wheel, which is place onto the Spinner Drive. Using the same concepts as those useless fidget spinners, generating added torque without the added effort.
The bits from the Spinner Drive can also be used on non-impact drive drills/screwdrivers.
The project is currently being funded on kickstarter.com, with a goal of raising $7,000, the goal has already been met, but there are still early bird prices available. The Standard Edition (early bird) requires a pledge of $39 and Tough Edition (early bird) $45.
