Volkswagen, never really been a fan of the vehicles they put out except for a special edition here and there or when a tuning company does a really nice job in making it stand out. And I can’t really picture myself buying a minivan, especially a Volkswagen. But the Volkswagen T5 done up by Hartmann is not so bad.
The Volkswagen T5 ‘Prime’ by Hartmann brings improvements to the exterior as well as performance enhancements to the midsize van. Changes to the ECU help the 2.0-liter TDI go from a 138 horsepower to a respectable 164 horsepower while torque is increased from 251 lb-ft to 291 lb-ft. And the same upgrade to the 2.0-liter BiTDI increase output from 177hp to 209hp while torque is increased from 295 lb-ft to 339 lb-ft. Those are some decent numbers there!
Hartmann also offers sports exhaust system which not only helps with enhancing performance but provides a more “sporty” sound while the electronic accelerator kit helps with improved throttle response. The new suspension kit for the van drops the ride height by 30mm to improve the stance as well as improve handling.
On the outside, the aero kit brings changes to the front spoiler, side skirts, and a rear apron. The T5 ‘Prime’ pictured here features 20-inch rims wrapped around 275/35 R20 tires. There are also minimal changes on the interior such as carbon fiber trim and velour carpeting featuring embroidered Hartmann logos.
