G-Power, specializing in BMW’s, has turned an already fast 1-Series M Coupe into a 600 horsepower beast. Rather than heavily modify the in-line six 3.0-liter engine, G-Power technicians decided to “borrow” the 4.0-liter V8 engine from the E92 M3 Coupe and decided to call it the G1 V8 HURRICANE RS.
G-Power also installed the entire powertrain from the M3 which includes the DCT double-clutch transmission gearbox and stainless steel exhaust system. The borrowed V8 engine produces 414 horsepower but in order to create the ultimate driving machine, technicians bolted on a customized ASA supercharger system to increase power. In order to squeeze out every little drop of power and make the vehicle as efficient as possible, G-Power performed computer aided simulations to analyze the conditions of the air-ducting engine parts.
The compact 1-Series M Coupe now produces 600 horsepower and 428 lb-ft of torque thanks to a supercharger kit for the V8 and tuning of the fuel maps. The G1 V8 HURRICANE RS can go from 0-100km/h (62mph) in a quick 4.4 seconds while it does the 0-200km/h (124mph) in a mere 12.7 seconds. With a top speed of 205mph, the G-Power 1-Series M Coupe is the world’s fastest BMW 1-Series according to the company. That is a lot faster than its elder sister, the M3.
With all that go, it does need a bit of ‘show’. The 1-Series is probably the least attractive car on BMW’s current show room floor but the 20-inch alloy wheels does ease the pain a tiny bit. With so much power, the brakes also have to be upgraded to 396mm ceramic carbon discs and a KW suspension kit to improve handling around the corners.
Other exterior improvements include carbon fiber hood with vents as well as a carbon fiber trunk with a lip spoiler. Interior touches include a revision of the seats, two-tone leather steering wheel, and Alcantara surfaces.
You can expect to pay around $182,900 for the G1 V8 HURRICANE RS.
