When cell phones first hit the consumer market way back in the day, they were big, ugly, and unreliable. As time went by, they started to become smaller in size and came with more features, it was considered cool to have the smallest phone possible. Then in the mid to late 2000’s, smartphones were introduced and we started going backwards with ever increasing phone sizes, some of the current smartphones are almost as big as tablets. These large phones have been around for a few years and are going to see a trend of smaller phones again? I don’t know but at least Samsung is offering a smaller version of their popular Galaxy S3 phone.
The Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini looks identical to the bigger version of the phone but is smaller in every aspect and is also lighter. The S3 Mini comes with a curved 4” screen and features a Super AMOLED WVGA resolution display (800 x 400 pixels) with 233 ppi compared to 306 ppi on the larger version.
The Galaxy S3 Mini is 121.55mm long, 63mm wide, 9.85mm thick, and weighs 111.5 grams. The S3 Mini’s processor is not as fancy as the larger phone; it comes with a 1 GHz dual-core processor. The phone comes with a 5 megapixel camera with an LED flash and a VGA front-facing camera.
The Samsung Galaxy S3 is priced at $599 but you can pick it up for $336 on amazon. The phone should be available in at least white and pebble blue colors but there could be more colors offered in the future.
