We’ve written about a few Dottling watch safes and winders, Dottling makes some pretty impressive watch safes that are targeted to the elite watch collectors. Their latest creation is the Dottling Gyrowinder watch winder.
The average guy, with one or two automatic watches, doesn’t really need a watch winder but it does come in handy if you don’t wear your automatic watch daily. You could always buy a decent “box” type winder but what’s the fun in that, you need to show off your success and watch obsession by buying this €11,800 (about $15,100) presentation watch winder.
The Dottling Gyrowinder uses a gyroscope to twist and turn your watch in every directional imaginable, I would probably spend hours just watching the watch twist and turn in this thing. According to the manufacturer, the Gyrowinder simulates real movement, like tricking your watch into thinking it’s being worn – yeah, like a watch really cares if it’s being worn or showcased.
The Dottling Gyrowinder comes with a large base that has 6 buttons for counterweights on the gyroscope, for placing the watch in your desired position. The base also comes with a pair of LED spotlights that point at the watch, because the whole point of this winder is to show off your priceless timepiece. The winder is finished off with a hand-blown crystal glass dome.
