I don’t usually write about quartz watches but when I do, they’re about Movado watches (I can’t believe I just wrote that). Movado watches have a special place in my heart, my first “real” watch was a Movado Museum piece that I bought when I was in college; everyone thought I was some rich kid. I still own that watch and occasionally wear it. Today I bring you the Movado Series 800 Dive watches.
The Movado Series 800 watches have been around for a while now with a few different varieties, they seem to be quite popular and pretty reasonably priced. I personally prefer the look of their museum watches but I guess Movado can’t sell as many watches when they all have the same black dial and two hands.
Movado Series 800 Dive Watches
The Movado series 800 dive watches come in two varieties and two color combinations. The watches either come in three-hand or chronograph varieties with blue or orange hands and highlights. Both varieties come in Performance Steel™ cases and feature screw-down crowns, sapphire crystal, uni-directional rotating bezel, black rubber straps, and are water resistant to 200 meters.
The 800 Series Diver Chronograph watches come in 42mm cases while the 800 Series Diver 3-hand watches come in 40mm cases. Both watches have simple dials with blue or orange second and chronograph hands and the same color highlight rings around the dials. The chronograph watches have the date windows at the 4 o’clock position and the 3-hand watches have them at the 3 o’clock position.
