To celebrate the 75th birthday of Rolf Schnyder, president of Ulysse Nardin, the Swiss watch manufacturer is introducing this sweet timepiece, called the Ulysse Nardin Freak Diovolo Rolf 75.
The watch comes with some very advanced components, including a Tourbillon complication, and it doesn’t have a crown; a complication (or the lack of) I’ve never seen in a watch. Instead, time is set via the watch bezel, and there’s another bezel in the rear for winding the watch. The watch is made out of platinum and has Rolf Schnyder’s signature engraved on the lower part of the case.
The Ulysse Nardin Freak Diovolo Rolf watch has a power reserve of eight days, beat at 28,800 A/h, has forward and backward time setting, and can be wound by the bezel in addition to being wound by movement on the wrist. One full rotation on the bezel equals to 12 hours of power reserve.
Only 75 timepieces will be produced; because of the limited number, the fine craftsmanship, the use of exotic materials and numerous complications, I’m sure this watch will cost well over $150,000 a piece!
I think the Freak Diavolo was one of Ulysse Nardin best yet…looking forward to his iPhone app
