Vacheron Constantin Métiers d’Art Hommage à l’Art de la Danse Watches

Here’s a trio of watches by Vacheron Constantin called the Métiers d’Art Hommage à l’Art de la Danse, quite the name if I say so.  The three watches are one-of-a-king and are part of a new series of artistic watches by Vacheron Constantin.  This series, called “Métiers d’Art” makes use of the ancestral art of Grand Feu grisaille enameling that dates back to the 9th century.

The first set of watches celebrates the 300th anniversary of École Française de Danse, a ballet dance school in France.  The watches are more like a work of art than time-telling devices; they’re inspired by the work of famous French artist Edgar Degas, known for his drawings of dancers.

The Vacheron Constantin Ballerina watches are quite simple in terms of features but they make up for it in terms of art and attention to details.  These watches combine the art of ballet, the art of enamelling, and the art of watchmaking, in well executed package.

Each of the three watch dials depicts a different ballet scene: The Dance Class (Reference 86090/000G-9870), The Rehearsal (Reference 86090/000G-9880), and Two Dancers on Stage (Reference 86090/000G-9881).

All three Vacheron Constantin Métiers d’Art Hommage à l’Art de la Danse watches come in 40mm x 9.2mm, 18k white gold cases with hand-stitched Mississippi alligator leather straps with 18k white gold buckles.  The dials are covered with sapphire crystal and the backs feature an “officer caseback” with sapphire crystal.  The watches are powered by in-house, hand-wound Vacheron caliber 2460SC movements with 40 hour power reserve and are water resistant to 30 meters.

No word on prices on the Vacheron Constantin Métiers d’Art Hommage à l’Art de la Danse watches but we do expect them to cost over $100,000 each. Via: VC
