To celebrate their 100th anniversary, Aston Martin presented the CC100 Speedster concept at the 24 Hours of Nurburgring race. Aston Martin makes some of the most elegant sports cars in the industry and the CC100 has the same elegant take on the classic speedster design.
The name, CC100, stands for Concept Car 100 (years) and takes its design inspirations from the Aston Martin DBR1 race car (pictured below) which won the 1959 24 Hours of Le Mans race.
The Aston Martin CC100 Speedster is a pretty sexy looking concept car. It has the distinct Aston Martin front fascia, mixed with Speed Racer styling. The car is loaded with carbon fiber and has a minimalist approach to everything on the outside and inside. The interior is no-nonsense, as it should be in a race car, with leather seats and leather straps for the interior door handles, classic.
The CC100 Speedster is powered by a naturally aspirated 6.0 liter V12 engine with a 6-speed sequential gearbox. According to Aston Martin, the CC100 Speedster can reach 0 – 100 km/h (62 mph) in a little over 4 seconds, this seems a bit slow since this is a pretty light car, weighing 2,645 pounds.
