Although I don’t ride, I really do appreciate motorcycles and the skills which are required to operate this piece of machinery. I hear a lot of friends say that they want to ride but can’t really afford to have another ride. We have regular Joe’s trying to save a few grand for a motorcycle and then we have Tarhan Telli of Turkey who apparently has built the world’s most expensive motorcycle.
The motorcycle looks like an ordinary chopper but looks can be deceiving. It’s true that there really is nothing that special about the motorcycle in terms of performance or even sex appeal but the astronomical price tag of over $1 million is thanks to the amount of gold used on the motorcycle. Telli spent over a year building the motorcycle and frame for the bike is made of gold.
The motorcycle’s engine produces 125 horsepower from the 1801cc V-Twin engine which is mated to a six-speed transmission. The motorcycle weighs in at 700 pounds and a decent amount of weight is in the golden frame.
Although the motorcycle is full of bling, it certainly doesn’t look as such. This $1 million motorcycle does have a bit of a Greek mythology theme with the gas tank of the bike featuring a sculpted head of Medusa. The rear fender on the motorcycle also features a sculpture of a snake.
The overall look of the motorcycle is pretty rugged looking. It kind of looks badass but I still prefer the sports-bike over this thing. One good thing about his bike is that it will continue to be valuable (as long as price of gold doesn’t crash). Telli’s goal is to be in the Guinness Book of World Records but no word yet on whether it’s official yet.
Why on earth did the guy bother as it looks like a piece and junk?!? The weight to BHP ratio is shit too, as this thing will be overtaken by just about everything on the road.
Being really bored, having too much money, and lots of time results in such “projects” I suppose.
Really Impressive, each and every metallic design is superb. Art is art; sculptures are really awesome. What a deceiving look!
