The original Toyota FJ Cruiser (now known as Land Cruiser) SUVs were and still are some of the coolest vehicles in the world; the FJ is one of my all-time favorite vehicles. These vehicles are very tough but after decades of use and abuse, it’s getting harder and harder to find one in good shape, but if you must have one (and have lots of cash in the bank), then you have to check out the Matte Black 1966 Toyota FJ44 by ICON.
ICON is famous for producing SUVs based on old SUVs from the 50’s and 60’s. The make some very high quality vehicles that have the classic look but come with modern engines, suspensions, brakes, etc. Their latest creation is a stunning off-roader that’ll leave the original FJ Cruiser in the dust.
The ICON FJ44 is powered by a 5.7 liter V8 engine producing 420 horsepower and 458 pound-feet of torque, mated to a 5-speed manual transmission, there is an optional automatic transmission available. The ICON FJ44 comes with a 4×4 system, heavy duty suspension and brakes, a winch, removable cloth top, removable doors, and stain-resistant seat covers. The vehicle is finished in volcanic black matte paint, giving it a very sinister look.
The interior is no-nonsense with a utilitarian look; it comes with a stereo system and optional navigation system. The vehicle can be equipped with a variety of seating configurations for the third row; forward facing seats or bench seats facing each other.
At the beginning of the post, I said you’ll need lots of cash and I wasn’t lying. If you want a 1966 Toyota FJ44 by ICON, you’ll need to fork out $160,000! Now, as much as I love the FJ, I’d rather spend the money on a G-Wagon and spend the leftover cash on a used Land Rover Defender. Via: ICON
