The Delridge Belt by Alchemy Goods – A Belt Made From Recycled Inner Tubes

Over the last few weeks, I’ve spent much of my day tirelessly searching for the perfect belt.

You see, until recently I was all about leather goods. Leather wallets, leather belts… buttless leather chaps, you name it. Leather, leather, leather. It’s a good sturdy material, and the longer you wear it, the more beautiful the patina – which is important if you’re a clothing snob like me. But there’s a big world out there full of all sorts of belts, and I wanted to explore it.

I’m Tired of Leather Belts

The funny thing about clothing is that it’s so subjective. I had a good conversation about this with a close clothing designer friend of mine, and we decided that many people simply have bad taste, or no taste. Hell, maybe you think I fit into that category too, and fair enough. I’m about to show you a belt made out of rubber after all…

But in any case, I spent a few weeks trying to find a new belt to replace my Tanner Goods belt that’s worn the fuck out, and I’ve realized that if it’s not made of leather, it probably looks like absolute dog shit. That’s sad given that I’ve been wanting to try something a little different. Thankfully, I believe I may have just found just the thing, even if it is made from discarded bicycle tires.

alchemy goods delridge belt This is the Delridge Belt, and it was designed and made in Seattle, Washington, by Alchemy Goods. I’m going to spare you a laundry list of what this belt is, because I think that’s immediately obvious. What I will say, though, is that Alchemy Goods seems to be bent on producing goods that have a low environmental impact, and I’m happy to see it.

All of their designs incorporate these kinds of discarded materials (especially inner tubes), and they’re all very reasonable priced – around $30 per belt. In fact, if you guys are interested, I’ll actually consider putting together a full review with fancy photos and pictures of my midriff. See how much I like you guys?

In any case, I would love to hear your options on The Delridge. Own one already? Leave me a comment. Think it looks hideous? Well, yeah… you should probably tell me about that as well considering I’m about to pick one up.
