Like last year, Swiss watchmaker Vacheron Constantin, has produced a limited edition watch to celebrate the Chinese zodiac year of the horse. The watch is part of the Vacheron Constantin Métiers d’Art The Legend of the Chinese Zodiac series and features the same design as last year’s watch.
The Year of the Horse watch’s design is inspired by the art of paper-cutting, or Jianzhi. The background on the dial features, what looks to be thin pieces of paper, emphasizing Jianzhi’s influence on the watch. Like last year, these watches are available in 18k rose gold or platinum cases and are limited to 12 pieces in each version.
The rose gold watch is quite striking and features a horse at the center of the dial. The horse is finished in rose gold with a bronze Grand Feu enameled dial, and the watch comes with brown leather straps. The platinum watch comes with a blue Grand Feu enameled dial, and dark-blue leather straps.
The Vacheron Constantin Métiers d’Art The Legend of the Chinese Zodiac Year of the Horse watches are quite stunning, I prefer these over last year’s watches, the snakes on those didn’t quite look right. The watches come with the same “hands-free” dials and feature 4 windows located in four corners of the dial, displaying the minutes, hours, days, and dates.
The year of the horse watches come in 40mm cases with sapphire crystals on the front and back. These watches are powered by VC’s 2460 G4 self-winding automatic movements. The watches will be available at Vacheron Constantin boutiques. Via: VC
An utterly ghastly watch likely purchased by those with absolutely no taste.
Let me guess, you think Invicta makes great watches and you own half a dozen…
