BMW released information on the all-new 2-Series coupe about a month ago, now they’ve released information on the 2-Series M Performance parts, which will be available when the car arrives at dealerships next year.
The M Performance kit for the 2-Series includes aesthetic (aerodynamic), performance, and interior upgrades. Most M Performance packages consist of upgrades to suspension and aero stuff, with minimal horsepower increases. That’s also the case with the 2-Series M Performance Package.
Our European friends, with the 220d Coupe, will see an increase in horsepower from the 2.0 liter 4-cylinder diesel engine to 197 horsepower (up from 181) and an increase in torque to 310 pound-feet (up from 280.5). According to BMW, the increase in power doesn’t affect fuel consumption or emissions. The M235i gets a limited slip differential and a new exhaust system with a sportier sound, no power upgrades on this model.
The M Performance package lowers the ride height of the 2-Series coupe by 0.78” (20 mm) with sport suspensions, lightweight 19” wheels in two designs, and M Performance brakes with choice of yellow, orange, or red calipers.
Exterior upgrades include blacked-out kidney grill, lower apron on the front bumper, carbon fiber mirror caps, carbon fiber spoiler, a rear diffuser, and black stripes on the sides. Interior upgrades include carbon fiber on the center console, door trim, and gear lever. The package comes with a sports steering wheel with Alcantara finish and a digital rev counter. Via: BMW
