When I go grocery shopping and purchase a product I’m unfamiliar with, I almost always read the ingredients and look for one or two things which I avoid. Of course, most of the stuff I read in the ingredients should be avoided. If you can’t pronounce it, avoid it. My wife on the other hand is the one that looks for those labels that say “Natural”. It’s natural, so it’s gotta be good for you, right?
Just as the entire food industry was jumping on the Organic and Natural bandwagon, my ex-boss was already complaining about the labels on products. He’s one of those crazy old guys that thinks the government is trying to control the people by spraying chemicals over cities so nobody really takes him seriously. But one thing I do clearly remember is his rant about the “Natural” label on all types of food products. You wanted a few days off work but weren’t sure if he would let you have it? Start off the conversation about “natural” food, get his blood boiling, and bam – go in for the kill and ask for some time off.
Here is a funny “mockumentary” I found called ‘The Natural Effect’. It’s funny and most likely very true. But do keep in mind that it’s made by the folks over at Only Organic.
