Lately, TAG Heuer has been producing some very impressive timepieces. I used to think of TAG watches as more of fashion watches that you can pick up at stores like Macy’s or The Bay, at malls. Their newer stuff, however is designed better, looks better quality, and is priced to be competing with the likes of Omega watches.
Their latest watch is the TAG Heuer Carrera Calibre CH 80 Chronograph, and it looks fantastic. The watch comes with either a black dial with white sub-dials or white dial with black sub-dials. There are hints of red throughout the watch, including a red band around the crown and red stitching on the black leather strap; giving the watches a very sporty look.
These watches come in 41 mm stainless steel cases with very clean dials. The dial features three sub-dials for the chronograph hours, minutes, and seconds, and a date window between the 4 and 5 o’clock position. The front of the dial is covered with AR coated sapphire crystal and it features a sapphire crystal see-through case-back, and is water resistant to 100 meters.
The Carrera Calibre CH 80 Chronograph is powered by the TAG in-house caliber CH 80 movement, with 233 components and 39 jewels. The movement comes with an impressive 80 hour power reserve, and is only 6.5 mm thick.
