Do you remember Anton Chigurh with his massive silenced shotgun in No Country for Old Men? It was a silenced Remington 11-87 shotgun, and I thought it was the coolest thing ever at the time.
Think about that one for a second… I was marveling at how “cool” a shotgun was, a thing that’s sole purpose is to kill people. I don’t know whether that’s a product of our long heritage of violence as a species, or a sad statement on modern society. In any case, I couldn’t help but find it cool, and I feel the same way about this Salvo 12 shotgun silencer from the appropriately named SilencerCo.
Johnny Dronehunter: Defender of Privacy
What I find slightly less cool is ol’ Johnny here. Now, I know it’s probably not wise to take the piss out of someone carrying a massive silenced shotgun, but unfortunately Johnny is just too easy a target. You see, though I don’t know the man, I can’t help but feel like he’s a bit of a douchbag.
Perhaps you’ll see what I mean.
I’m glad he’s protecting our privacy, believe me, I’m a firm believer in personal privacy, but… first off, why were all the drones exploding? I’m fairly certain they’re not generally packed with explosives. Also, why does Johnny’s jacket say “biker”? Does he just forget all the time? Does he need to look down and go “oh, right!” when he wakes up in the morning?
Seriously, I’m just curious here.
And these are some of the promo shots from the SilencerCo website. Again, fantastic looking killing device right there, but these guys… man. Let’s just say that Johnny seems to keep a certain kind of company.
This just looks like regular skeet shooting, no drones for this guy. The drones are Johnny’s territory, and you don’t want to make Johnny angry. If he remembers that he’s a biker, he’ll mess you up!
Like I said, this is one sexy looking silence shotgun combo.
Now, here’s my question: have any of you ever fired a silenced shotgun? If you have, I want to hear all about it in the comments below. I’ve been to the range a few times, but not with any fancy suppressors. I suspect that like most silencers, the noise that we hear masks the weapons true power.
A shotgun’s sole purpose is to kill people? LOL . I’m pretty sure it’s intended purpose was to shoot ducks, turkey and pheasant. But nice try, liberal douchebag.
Hey not a gun owner .I prefer cameras .
However as a kid on the farm I shot lots of bottles ,old fence posts (with slugs) etc.By the way everyone in the county had at least a rifle and or a shot gun ,mostly both.NO ONE ever accidentally or purposely shot another person and personal violence i.e. fighting was not uncommon .
So to say A shotgun’s sole purpose is to kill people ,is really dumb ass .
If you live in a rural area that allows shotguns to be discharged ,one might want a silencer just to keep the noise down for neighbors fellow shooters etc.
Good thing here for Drone owners. You can’t just go and purchase a silencer. It is an extensive process and will cost you no less than $600 to purchase one silencer for one gun.
