A couple of years ago Infiniti showcased the very sexy looking Emerg-E hybrid supercar concept, which hasn’t really spawned anything in terms of production models yet. Our fingers are still crossed though. Now Infiniti has released another concept, called the Infiniti Q80 Inspiration sedan, at least it has a production-ready name.
The Emerg-E looked like something that could become a production model with minor tweaks; the Q80 Inspiration on the other hand, will never see the light of day without major design changes. I do like most of the design of the car; I’m not too wild about the massive front grill area though.
Other than front, the rest of the design is quite attractive, with lots of flowing lines and muscular rear fenders. The rear end is extremely sexy, like a fine looking lady’s rear end in tight jeans. The car features suicide doors, leading one into a very luxurious interior.
The dashboard and center stack takes the “minimalist” design approach to the extreme, and not in a good way. I like minimalist interiors, but this is just too much (or too little in this case). I do like the rest of the interior though, which consists of very supportive looking seats for four. There’s even a champagne bottle holder between the two rear seats.
The Infiniti Q80 Inspiration will be presented at the Paris Motor Show this week. The car is the Japanese automaker’s intent of going after the large luxury sedan market, which is currently dominated by the S-Class, 7-Series, A8, and the LS. We’ll just have to wait and see what the final production version of the Infiniti Q80 sedan looks like.
