Zenos Cars a UK based manufacturer and is one of those brand of vehicles that few know about unless you are really into the automotive world. Their first vehicle, the E10, was launched about a year ago and the company has now unveiled the production ready E10 S at the Autosport International Show in the UK. The Zenos E10 S is a road legal track car which utilizes the all thrills and no frills concept.
Maybe I spoke too soon as one of the big news with the E10 S is that it features a heated windshield which is pretty fancy. For the E10 to be honored with the ‘S’, the vehicle has gained more power thanks to a turbocharged version of the 2.0-liter four-cylinder Ford engine which puts down 250 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. This is a significant improvement over the standard Zenos E10 with an increase in 50 horsepower and 140 lb-ft of torque.
The addition of a windshield is definitely a good idea especially for those living in the rainy UK. There is no roof but a ‘Get Home’ weather hood is available in case you get caught off guard with a down pour. The Zenos E10 S is also half a second quicker than the standard E10 with a 0 to 60 mph in only four seconds while both models have a top speed of 135 mph.
In terms of construction material, the E10 S is built using modern lightweight materials including recycled carbon fiber with thermoplastic core and aluminum extrusions. The vehicle tips the scales at 1,543 pounds making it 55 pounds heaver than the standard E10 but the increased power more than makes up for its minor weight gain.
The Zenos E10 S has a starting price of £29,995 ($45,500) in the UK while the regular Zenos E10 has a starting price of £24,995. Add on the slew of options available and that price will skyrocket in no time. For more details, check out the Zenos website.
