It’s no secret that I’ve spent a disgusting amount of time over the last few months playing Dragon Age: Inquisition. You know this, because I’m telling you about it right now. I’m really and truly addicted.
The world is massive. It’s detailed, it’s beautiful, and it’s absolutely full of unique and interesting content. It might just be the best game I’ve played in the last few years, and it has me worried. Not just because I’m addicted to this particular game, but because my interest in the genre has been re-kindled. What’s going to happen when The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt arrives in just a few short months? I’m a huge fan of that series.
Will I be as hopefully as addicted as I am with Dragon Age?
I suspect I will. You see, CD Projekt Red has finally released a video showing a ton of real, actual gameplay. The video is 15 minutes long and jumps between a wide range of areas, questions, and conversations with various people scattered through-out the game world. If this video, plus what I know and love about the previous Witcher games, is any indication, then soon we’ll have a delightfully adult RPG in short order with size and scope scarcely imagined even by the likes of Elder Scrolls and Dragon Age.
Here’s the video…
And if that didn’t satisfy your Witcher craving, then I’ve got something else for you: a ton of new HD screenshots. Use them as wallpapers, use them as inspiration for your next L.A.R.P session… whatever you like. I’m not here to judge, just to inform.
The release date for The Witcher 3 is now May 19th, 2015. It’s been delayed a few times, but you know what? That’s often a good thing, especially from what I believe is a trustworthy studio like CD Projekt Red. If it means that we get a high quality game with a minimum of bugs, then I’m happy to wait a few extra months.
Besides, I’ve got Dragon Age: Inquisition to keep me busy in the mean time…
