Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain — Release Date and “New” Trailer… Finally!

Kojima has finally announced the release date for Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain. It’s been years in the making, and fans the world over have anxiously been awaiting the game’s release, myself included.

Funny enough, I only really started following the game a year ago! Even then, it wasn’t until Ground Zeroes was released on the PC that I finally dove in and had my “ah hah!” moment. It all clicked and I realized why people love the series so much. Simply put, it’s because it’s damn awesome.

But you’re not hear to read about my new found love of the series, you’re here for the release date and trailer. So let me start off by saying that if you’re playing MGS5:TPP on consoles, you can get your hands on it starting September 1st, 2015. If you’re playing it on a real platform, the PC, then unfortunately you’ll have to wait a few extra weeks until September 15th, 2015.

Now as for the trailer, I’m afraid it might not be exactly what you expect. It’s not really a new trailer, but instead an older one for Metal Gear Online that has developer commentary. It’s still a nice little addition.

I’m actually looking forward to the multiplayer as much as the single player. I have a feeling that once I’ve finished the single player campaign, I’ll be thirsty for more action. Hopefully the multiplayer component has a bit of longevity too it.

Either way, check back for the latest news on Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain. I’m basically obsessed with it now, so you can count on me to keep you up to date with the latest news, trailers, screenshots, and the inevitable release date delay announcement.
