Wörthersee is a lake in Austria that’s a very popular vacation destination but also very famous among car enthusiasts because of the Wörthersee VW show. The show takes place in May and has been taking place since 1981.
Volkswagen brings concept cars to this show from various brands owned by this auto making giant. One of the special cars at this year’s show will be the Audi TT Clubsport concept, and no it will not be available for purchase.
The Audi TT Clubsport looks quite aggressive, at first glance I thought it was a racing version of the R8. The car features a wide body kit, it’s 5.5” wider than a stock TT, and takes it design inspirations from 1980’s IMSA Audi racing cars. The TT Clubsport also features a racing inspired adjustable carbon fiber rear wing, which is a must for any true racing inspired car.
Not only does this car look like the sportier R8, it also performs like it. The TT Clubsport is powered by a turbocharged 2.5 liter 5-cylinder engine that also gets help from an electric supercharger. The end result is 650 PS (640.85 horsepower) and 479 pound-feet of torque, sent to all four wheels via Audi’s Quattro AWD system. The 0 to 62 (0-100 km/h) sprint takes only 3.2 seconds with a top speed of 193 mph (310 km/h).
