Most people know Ralph Lauren for his fashion line – and you can look online for the latest Ralph Lauren men’s fashion – however, he’s also into the same kinds of stuff that we normal guys are into; namely, a love of vintage automobiles. Ralph Lauren also happens to produce some very nice watches, three things we love at Unfinished Man.
Combine those three and you get the new Ralph Lauren Sporting watch, a design that incorporates the beauty of a vintage car, with a fashionable and elegantly styled watch. The RL Sporting watch gets its design inspiration from Mr. Lauren’s most prized vintage car, the 1938 Bugatti Type 57SC Atlantic.
The watch face features an elm burl wood frame, the same material that is found on the Bugatti’s instrument panel. A black dial is placed inside the wood frame with Arabic numeral and white luminescent hour and minute hands, and the second sub-dial lies at the 6 o’clock position.
The Ralf Lauren Sporting watch comes in a beautiful brushed steel case and comes with a black leather strap. The front and back are covered with sapphire crystal, the back showcasing an IWC made movement dubbed the RL Caliber RL98295. The Watch is priced is priced at a cool $13,200, so you may have to save your pennies for a while to buy one.
