Omega has introduced a new version of the Seamaster Diver 300M Co-Axial Chronograph watch to celebrate its partnership with ETNZ (Emirates Team New Zealand) for the 35th America’s Cup sailboat race.
The watch comes in a 44 mm case made out of grade 5 titanium, the same material is applied to the dial, which has been sandblasted. The dial is grey with red and white highlights, the same red is applied to the top pusher and to the back side of the black rubber strap. I’m sure you’ve guessed it, the colors red and black are the colors of ETNZ team.
The dial comes with the three standard chronograph sub-dials, but minutes dial features a specially designed hand with the word “regatta”, this dial has a 5 minute countdown to start. I’m guessing there’s a 5 minute countdown before the start in sailboat racing, and this feature on the watch refers to that. The dial comes with luminescent dots and luminescent skeleton minute and hour hands, and a luminescent dot on the second hand. The watch also comes with a grey rotating bezel.
The only direct reference to the partnership between Omega and ETNZ is on the caseback. The caseback depicts waves and a sail and the words “Emirates Team New Zealand”.
The Omega Seamaster Diver 300M Co-Axial Chronograph ETNZ watch is powered by Omega Caliber 3300 automatic movement, and is water resistant to 300 meters. The watch is priced at $7,800 and is not limited edition as far as I know. Via: Omega
