Here’s a novel idea, a pocket watch that can be used as a wristwatch by simply placing it in a specially designed holster. The watch is created by Hermes and is simple called “In The Pocket” watch, for the Only Watch 2015 charity auction in Geneva, Switzerland.
The pocket watch measure 40 mm wide, which seems rather small for a pocket watch, and is finished in rose gold with a black dial. The black dial has a very simple layout, with 12 Arabic numerals and a small-second sub dial, the crown is placed at the 12 o’clock position on the dial. The watch is powered by an H1837 automatic movement.
The Hermes pocket watch comes with a burgundy calf skin leather strap/holster, that has a special compartment to house the pocket watch, turning it into a wristwatch. In wristwatch form, the watch measures 49 mm wide with the leather strap. Unfortunately the company didn’t provide pictures of the watch in its wristwatch form, I would’ve liked to see what it looks like.
The special leather strap/holster was inspired by a watch bracelet given to Jacquelin Hermes by her father in 1912. Via: Hermes
