Lexus LF-LC Sedan Concept

Lexus is continuing the trend of giving us cars that are quite polarizing, whether you like their design direction or not, you can’t accuse them of making boring cars anymore. Their aggressive design philosophy started with the unveiling of Lexus LF-LC Coupe Concept a few years ago, featuring design language called “L-finesse”.

The Japanese automaker is continuing the trend with the unveiling of the Lexus LF-LC Sedan Concept at the Tokyo Motor Show. The LF-LC Sedan Concept is a look into the future design direction of the company’s flagship sedan, the Lexus LS. The LF-LC Sedan keeps the controversial large front grill, but overall the design is one of the cleanest to come out of Lexus design studio. The car is long and low, and looks very elegant.

The interior is top notch, with a minimalist approach, it’s filled with LED screens throughout the cabin. LED screens are used in the gauge cluster, the center stack, armrests, and even the controls for seat adjustments and window operation use LED screens.

The LF-LC Sedan Concept is powered by a hydrogen fuel cell system, with a rear mounted motor driving the rear wheels, and smaller motors at each of the front wheels, giving the car AWD.

We’ll see how Lexus translates this concept’s design into the production LS sedan; I believe the new Lexus LS will be a real competitor to the Mercedes-Benz S-Class.
