Lamborghini has just introduced an even more driver oriented version of their baby-supercar, the Huracan. The new car gets rid of the all-wheel drive system, power is now sent to the rear wheels only, but it still uses a 7-speed dual clutch transmission instead of a manual.
The Lamborghini Huracan LP580-2 is based on the Huracan LP610-4, but in the LP580-2, the naturally aspirated 5.2-liter V10 engine produces 571 horsepower and 398 pound-feet of torque. That’s 31 HP and 15 lb-ft. of torque less than the AWD model, however, the RWD Huracan does weigh 73 pounds less than the AWD model.
The Huracan LP580-2 is more about getting the rear-end loose and having fun than outright track performance and glue-like traction. Still, this car is no slouch, it sprints to 62 mph in 3.4 seconds with a top speed of 199 mph, which 0.2 seconds slower and top speed is 3 mph less than the LP610-4.
Visually there are minor differences between the Lamborghini Huracan LP580-2 and the LP610-4. The front bumper has been revised with little winglets in the air intake area and a rear lip spoiler has been added instead of the movable spoiler. The car rides on 19″ staggered wheels and is equipped with aluminum calipers and steel rotors.
