Fremantle
Although much smaller than Perth, Fremantle should definitely be on your list of must-see destinations in Western Australia purely because of its maritime history. It was a settlement in the early 1800s and was really considered the gateway to the west.
Although it’s on the smaller side, there’s still a ton to see. Be sure to visit the Roundhouse, the first permanent building of the settlement, the esplanade and walk along the water.
Busselton
You may not have heard of Busselton, and that’s ok, it’s a tiny place. But that doesn’t mean it’s not worth a quick visit. With stunning beaches, caves, wineries and the southern hemisphere’s longest wooden jetty and underground observatory, it’s well worth the visit.

Famous for its pearling history, Broome is an incredible place to visit. Located on the coast, its beaches are stunning and so are its historic buildings. The area around Broome is considered some of the most unspoiled areas in Australia. Its history dates as far back as the 1600s and if you go to learn about the pearling industry you’ll learn there was more to it than meets the eye. With great museums, stunning landscapes and the backdrop of the beautiful ocean, Broome is a must-see destination in Western Australia.
