It’s been a long time coming, but Aliens: Colonial Marines is almost here. Well, that’s not completely true; Gearbox actually delayed the game until the fall of 2012, but that’s not too far away, right? In the meantime, they’ve released this brand new gameplay trailer to either whet our appetites, or shamefully tease us.
This new trailer shows off a ton of new in-game footage of the marines creeping their way through the deserted corridors of the Hadley’s Hope colony on LV-421. If you’ve seen the movies, you’ll probably remember that the marines were sent there to investigate the mysterious loss of communications with the colony. Aliens: Colonial Marines takes place not long after the movie, when the marines are sent in to clean up.
Aliens: Colonial Marines Gameplay Trailer
I’m excited that Gearbox has done such an exceptional job capturing the look and feel of the movies for their game. Many studios have created games based on the Aliens franchise, and many of them were fun, but none of them captured the look and feel of the series like this new game does. I have high hopes that the gameplay will be just as exciting as the footage seems to indicate.
Aliens: Colonial Marines comes out in the fall of 2012 for PC, Xbox360, and PS3.
