The past meets the present with the all-new Morgan 3 Wheeler, which features modern technology and WWII styling. The original Morgan 3 Wheeler was produced from 1909 until 1953 and nearly 30,000 of them were sold, while many more were made under license by Darmont Morgan of France.
The 2011 Morgan features a modern V-Twin fuel injected motorcycle engine from S&S which produces 115 horsepower and is mated to a Mazda 5-speed transmission including a reverse gear. The classic chassis and design of the Morgan 3 Wheeler imitate the styling of a WWII aircraft, and also features a leather padded airplane style cockpit which allows the occupants of the vehicle the feeling of ‘flying through the air’. Morgan 3 Wheeler owners will have the option of being able to choose from a wide range of graphics which include air force inspired logos for both the US military and British air force. Other logos include oval racing numbers and stripes, checkered winner’s bonnet, a shark nose, official national flags, and the Morgan wings.
For those who wish to go for an ultimate classic look, they are able to do so by choosing a polished engine, polished cowl, and stainless steel tailpipes at an extra cost.
The vehicle will weigh 500kg and have a top speed of 115mph while doing the 0-60mph in an estimated 4.5 seconds. The Morgan 3 Wheeler will get its wold premiere at the up coming Geneva Motor Show. Pricing of the 3 Wheeler will start at approximately £25,000 ($40,600 USD).
