The VOLTure is a concept watch designed by Polish designer Maciej Mandrysz that takes its design inspiration from a Voltmeter. The watch has a very cool look to it and is probably the best thing to come out of Poland in a long time.
The watch face has two “hands”, one displaying the hours 0, 3, 5, 7, and 9 and the other displaying +1 and +2. There is also a small window that shows minutes, like a regular digital watch. How does it work? At first I thought it worked like a military time watch, if the small hand is at position +1 and the bigger hand is at position 7, the time is 1700 hours, which is 5:00 pm to us regular folks.
However, after studying the pictures above for a few minutes, telling time is even simpler. Just add the 2 markers and that gives you the hours and minutes are displayed at the bottom right. So in my example above, the time would be 8 o’clock, instead of 5.
Pretty cool, right?
Might want to check your math on the main picture. 9+1 = 11?
The first one didn’t make sense to me either, I got the picture from Tokyo Flash. I saw their mistake.
surely the top one is 10.41 not 11.41….? as only the 9 and 1 markers are coloured yellow…?
