There’s nothing wrong with the looks of the stock Audi A3 Sportback but the S3 Sportback is much more sexy. If you’re an A3 Sportback owner and are looking to upgrade to a more agressive look like the S3 but don’t want to cough up the money, consider the package being offered by ABT Sportsline for the latest Audi A3 Sportback. And if you are looking to also get S3 power out of the A3 Sportback, this kit won’t be the solution…for now.
German tuners from ABT Sportsline have a number of modifications available in their kit which include both aesthetics and performance oriented. In the looks department, the Audi A3 Sportback receives a new front grill and lip spoiler integrated into the front bumper. As we go down the car, you will find fender insets, new side skirts, a roof spoiler, and changes to the rear bumper which now make room for a new quad tailpipe exhaust system.
The package also includes wheel options from their own DR series lineup in either 18-inch or 19-inch diameter. And to improve the Audi A3 Sportback’s stance, ABT Lower Springs are installed which help lower the ride height by about 1.4 inches. This should also have an impact on the handling characteristics of the Audi A3 Sportback.
That about sums it up for the exterior department and making the A3 Sportback stand out in the crowd like the Audi S3 Sportback. The performance upgrades for the A3 Sportback improve the power output but can’t exactly be compared to the S3 Sportback.
In the 1.4-liter TSI engine comes stock with 120 horsepower but ABT is able to increase the output to 158 horsepower. It’s a decent increase in power but still not very much. While the 2.0-liter diesel goes from the stock 148 horsepower to 178 horsepower. ABT will also be offering a performance upgrade for the 1.6-liter TDI as well as the gasoline 1.8-liter TSI engine. ABT is also offering an improved braking system with larger discs.
