As we draw closer to the release of Battlefield 3 this October, EA and Dice are cranking up the hype machine with a steady flow of teasers, trailers, and now screenshots. EA released many trailers over the last few months, but not really much in the way of still shots. It surprises me given how useful high res shots are for say, wallpapers, but now that the screenshots are here, I’m not complaining.
Most of these shots show scenes of gun-play, explosions, or both, and all of them look stunning. Dice did an amazing job creating the latest iteration of the Frostbite Engine, and I’m looking forward to experiencing Battlefield 3 first hand. If the gameplay is even half as fun as Bad Company 2 was, then I know I’m in for a good time. I already know that they’ve got the visuals nailed down.

Battlefield 3 arrives October 25th for PC, Xbox 360, and PS3. You’ll find me making an ass of myself on one of the many online servers come release day.
