Some people love to exercise, and if you do then this post isn’t for you. If you aren’t the biggest fan of exercise and see it more as a chore than something to be enjoyed, than you may benefit from some of these awesome apps that actually make exercising a bit more fun and exciting rather than this boring, arduous task. What’s even better, most of these apps are free, and the ones that aren’t only cost a couple of dollars. So what are you waiting for? Let’s try and make exercising fun.
Zombies, Run!
This app has taken the world by storm so you may have heard of it before, but if not then this is going to revolutionize the way you run. Functioning more as an interactive audio story with chapters, goals and seasons, Zombies, Run! puts you right in the middle of a zombie apocalypse and the only way to survive is to run, run, run.
If you don’t run fast enough, the zombies will get you, if you don’t get to a location quick enough to gather supplies, you will die. This app is great for everyone, even those of us who aren’t big zombie fans because it takes your mind off of the fact you’re exercising and instead puts you in the middle of a crazy, fast-paced story. This app used to cost money, but now it’s totally free so there’s no excuse.
Superhero Workout
Who doesn’t want to be a superhero? With each exercise you do through you app, you’re protecting earth against invasion. The only way to activate your weapons and protect yourself and your people is to keep completing the many exercises. Exercising has never felt so monumental before. This app costs $2.99, but it’s well worth the money to make you feel like the Incredible Hulk.
Pact
If you need some more encouragement and higher stakes to get out there and hit the pavement than perhaps Pact is the app for you. Totally free to download, Pact connects you with your friends to set challenges for working out and healthy eating goals. The kicker? You put in money and if you win, you get all the money but if you loose, you can say goodbye to that. It takes betting to a whole new level—except this time, you’re in charge of whether you win or lose.
Sworkit
This app is also totally free of charge and it gives you complete control over your workout, which will entice you to do it more often. Do you want cardio? Stretching? Biking? Maybe even yoga? What if you’ve only got 20 minutes before you leave for work? Put that in. It then creates the perfect workout for you in the specified time frame and then connects with Apple Music and Spotify to give you a playlist worthy of your workout.
Exercising doesn’t have to be this boring and awful task you feel like you have to do to stay healthy. Allow yourself to have some fun with it and you may just find it’s not as bad as you think.
