Directly across the river from the CBD, you’ll find Kangaroo Point Cliffs, which a lovely walk on what appears to be a cliff face overlooking the river, marina and skyline. The views here are spectacular, but it’s also a great place to watch the sunset as it sets almost right behind the city.
The best parts of this view is that there’s a nice café you can stop at and enjoy the view at and the ferry across the river is totally free.
Mount Coot-Tha
Another one of the best views in Brisbane is Mount Coot-Tha, but it is a little further out than Kangaroo Point. Getting to the top will take a little bit of a hike, so it’s great for fitness lovers who like a reward of a great view at the end. However, if you’re not an active person or just want the view without the hassle of walking, you can drive to the top as well.
Located nearly 300 meters above sea level, this easily makes it high-ranking for best views in Brisbane. While you get a great view of the city, you get less of the river since you’re so far away.
Mount Gravatt Lookout
Similar to the view from Mount Coot-tha, this view looks out over the city from the south side. What makes it particularly wonderful is just seeing the surrounding landscape enveloping the city. The rural area around Brisbane is just as gorgeous as the city itself, so seeing it in the wider shot can really take you breath away.
