Here’s a BMW 2-Series Coupe we would really like to see in the flesh. The BMW Vision Gran Turismo is a computer generated car for the popular racing simulation game, Gran Turismo 6. It looks more like a M2 (or M235i) German Touring Car entry.
In the video game, the Vision GT is powered by a virtual 3.0 liter inline-6 engine producing 549 horsepower and 501 pound-feet of torque, power is sent to the rear wheels via a 6-speed sequential gearbox with paddle shifters on the steering wheel. The virtual car weighs 2,601 pounds with a 50:50 weight distribution.
The BMW Vision Gran Turismo looks pretty damn sexy to me, I know a car like this will never make it into production, but it might be a look at a future 2-Series racing car. Maybe some of the car tuners would copy this design and sell body kits for the 2-Series.
Looks-wise, the car is very aggressive looking, as a race car should look like. The car has a carbon fiber front bumper with large air intakes and a very low carbon fiber chin spoiler. On the sides, there are huge bulges for the wide wheels with cooling ducts for the rear brakes and exhaust tips sticking out in front of the wheels. At the back is a large double-spoiler on the trunk and a smaller one on the roof, and there is a massive carbon fiber diffuser.
The BMW Vision GT looks pretty awesome, visitors can drive it at BMW Welt, it’s currently not available on Gran Turismo 6 game, but it probably will make it onto the game soon.
