The Breitling Transocean Chronograph Edition watch is the latest addition to Breitling’s retro inspired Transocean line of watches. These new watches are limited to 2,000 pieces, no word on prices yet.
The Transocean watches are inspired by some of the first trans-ocean flights from the 1950’s; the watches do have bits of retro design elements. The new limited edition Transocean Chronograph Edition watches are very similar in design to other watches in this line, we’ve written about of few of them here. The “new” watches also come in 43mm stainless steel cases with mesh bracelets and crocodile or cowhide leather straps.
The dial on Transocean Chronograph watch has a pretty clean layout with a pair of subdials for the chronograph, a date window at the 6 o’clock position, and a tachymeter scale on the outer edges of the dial. The dial has “twinzone silver-toned décor”, with Mercury silver finish. The classic Breitling “B” symbol is finished in 18k gold, as are the hour markers and the three hands. The minute and hour hands have lume applied to them and there are small circular lume dots behind the hour markers.
The front and the back of the watch are covered with AR coated sapphire crystal, and the back comes with a hunter-style lid that has space for personalized engraving.
The Breitling Transocean Chronograph Edition watches are powered by Breitling’s in-house COSC-certified caliber 01 self-winding automatic movement with 70 hours of power reserve, and water resistance to 100 meters. Via: Breitling
