Smart watches have become quite popular over the last few years, and if/when Apple releases their speculated smart watch, popularity of these watches is going to explode. Personally, I’m more of a traditional watch guy; I prefer mechanical/automatic watches but do appreciate the technology behind smartwatches. The one problem I see with most smart watches is, well, they look extremely nerdy! That’s where the Cogito Original smart watch comes in, it’s a smart watch that looks like a traditional watch.
The Cogito Original is not as smart as some of the other smart watches we’ve written about, but it makes up for it with looking like a traditional watch. The watches come in a variety of colored cases and feature 5 push buttons on their steel cases, for the various features available.
The dial has an LED screen and features an hour and minute hand, and the outer case has 12-hour indices. The background of the dial displays various alerts, users can customize which alerts they want displayed, including email icons, incoming call alerts, and calendar reminders. Users can ignore or respond to incoming calls with a top on the screen or by clicking one of the buttons on the steel case.
The Cogito Original watch uses low-energy Bluetooth 4.0 to connect to popular devices like the latest iPhone, iPads, iPod, and Samsung and HTC phones. The watch comes with a non-rechargeable battery that lasts over a year and can be easily replaced.
I think the Cogito Original is a pretty nice looking watch that might be quite useful. I just might pick one of these up, if the case is not too big (their website doesn’t give the watch’s dimensions). The watches are currently available for pre-order at a price of $179.95. Via: Cogito
Here’s for dimensions. Not sure if they alter it later on.
