Dark Souls 2: Gameplay Trailer + Release Date – The Sequel to the Most Frustrating Game Ever

Do you guys remember Ninja Gaiden for the original Xbox?

I sure do, and I also remember getting so angry that I nearly put my controller through the television. No, I mean it. I vividly remember my face going red with absolute, unbridled rage, and my arm winding back to toss the solid block of plastic through the screen, right before a bit of better judgement kicked in.

Did I have anger problems? Yeah, probably… but it was a disgustingly difficult game.

Then Came Dark Souls

Many, many years later, while I was on vacation at a friends house on the other side of the county, I had an opportunity to watch a whole lot of Dark Souls. I never did play it, but one thing was for certain: it made Ninja Gaiden look easy.

The only difference this time was that it wasn’t me having a meltdown, it was one of my best friends. Much better! And do you know what’s even better yet? Dark Souls 2 is finally coming out, and after watching this trailer I expect it to be every bit as… unique, as the last one.

Dark Souls 2… ahh… what can I say? It sure hasn’t lost the spookiness of the original. If anything, it looks a whole lot spookier. There’s something about the Dark Souls universe that I find very off-putting, but in a good way. It’s a bit like what I imagine purgatory would be like…

Note: if it actually does take place in a purgatory like place, well… fine! As I said, I never did have an opportunity to play the game for myself.

The Dark Souls 2 Release Date

March… it’s coming out on March 14th, 2014 for PC, Xbox 360, and PS3. Also, something just occurred to me: it doesn’t appear to be coming out for next generation consoles. While the game isn’t exactly a looker, I’m a bit surprised.

Does anyone know anything about this?
