David Bateson, the voice of Agent 47 from the Hitman series of video games, has done a rare interview discussing his career as a Broadway actor, and his role as the voice of Agent 47. Unsurprisingly, he confirms that Hitman: V is already in some level of development. David Bateson will be reprising his role as the infamous bald contract killer, but he has no further details on the game, or when Eidos plans to release the game.
The whole interview is interesting, but what I found most surprising was that David had to re-audition for his role as Agent 47. David explains this as being due to company buy outs, and a new L.A. based caster. I find this really quite absurd and short-sighted on Eidos’s part. For those of you that have played any of the Hitman games, can you really imagine someone else doing the voice?
The rest of the interview discusses his favorite Hitman game, and David’s future plans.
And now he’s not playing the role. So that last line in the article is prophetic. Weird.
Don’t even talk about it. When I heard that, I cried myself to sleep.
