Yesterday I talked about three modified Jeep Wranglers for the 2014 Easter Jeep Safari and today I’ll shed some light on the two Jeep Cherokees and one Jeep Grand Cherokee. As mentioned in the previous post, Jeep and Mopar have been getting together to come up with concepts since 2002 and many of the design ideas make it into the market place.
Jeep Cherokee Adventurer
The first one the list is the 2014 Jeep Cherokee Adventure boasting its Trailhawk 4×4 capability, including a 48:1 crawl ratio with added utility and plenty of cargo convenience for any off-road adventures, as well as a slew of Jeep Performance Parts from Mopar. The exterior of the Cherokee Adventurer features a Trailhawk black hood decal, a matte black Mopar roof basket which is a prototype and holds down cargo via a bungee net. The vehicle sits on 17-inch prototype wheels wrapped in BFGoodrich All-Terrain tires and embellished with aluminum granite crystal and black pockets.
For a bit of protection, the Cherokee Adventurer features rock rails and additional protection is added via a two-piece under body skid plate, a front suspension skid plate, two-piece fuel tank skid plate, and an oil tank skid plate. As a final touch for the exterior, there are red tow hooks at the front.
On the inside of the SUV, the driver and passengers are greeted by Katzkin leather seats with perforated inserts and maize embroidered Jeep logos as well as leather-wrapped steering wheel, arm rest, and shift boot which all feature maize stitching. The instrument panel, HVAC bezels, steering wheel, and door switch bezels all feature tan inserts so that it matches the exterior tan paint.
Jeep Cherokee Dakar
Next up on the list is the more aggressive looking Jeep Cherokee Dakar featuring Silver Steel Satin Gloss paint with Flame Red graphics trim throughout the exterior of the vehicle. The vehicle sits on Trailhawk 17-inch polished Satin clear coat wheels which feature two large Flame Red pockets, and the Cherokee nameplate is also changed to a Flame Red hue.
On the front, you’ll notice the iconic seven-slot Jeep grille but two of which are highlighted with red inserts as well as a prototype lower fascia trim. From the looks of it, the Cherokee Dakar is intended for off-road duty, equipped with Jeep Performance Parts rock rails, front suspension skid plate, oil pan skid plate, fuel tank and under body skit plates. The wheel wells have been slightly modified to fit large 33-inch BFGoodrich Mud Terrain tires and the vehicle has also been fitted with a prototype of Jeep Performance’s lift kit along with suspension mods to make it the most extreme factory Jeep Cherokee yet. The SUV also features wider fender flares featuring rivet bolts for a tougher appearance as well as accommodating the wider track and bigger tires. In the rear, a prototype rear fascia allows for a more aggressive departure angle and it enhances the higher ride height. The crawl ratio on the Cherokee Dakar is 48:1 with estimated approach and departure angles of 32 and 39 degrees.
On the inside of the vehicle, it will also feature the Katzkin leather seats just like the Wranglers and the Cherokee Adventurer although this model will feature “machined gunmetal” inserts which are heightened with Header Red stitching which is also found on the arm rest, shift boot, and steering wheel.
Jeep Grand Cherokee EcoDiesel Trail Warrior
Last but not least is the Jeep Grand Cherokee EcoDiesel Trail Warrior. Wow, what a name! This vehicle brings even more capability and convenience thanks to a number of performance parts from Mopar and Jeep Performance Parts. This Grand Cherokee features Quadra-Lift air suspension allowing the vehicle to have a higher ride height.
The exterior features a Majave Sand exterior color with satin black trim along the grille, lower front fascia, hood, mirror caps, wheel flares, and badges. On the roof, you’ll find the prototype Mopar roof basket which is mounted on cross rails providing ample space to haul various cargo and gear. The 20-inch cast aluminum wheels are prototypes and finished off in satin black and are wrapped in BFGoodrich all-terrain tires. Tow hooks and rock rails from Jeep Performance Parts can also be found on the vehicle. This particular Grand Cherokee features a 44:1 crawl ratio for your off-roading adventures.
On the inside the Grand Cherokee EcoDiesel Trail Warrior offers a two-tone scheme in black and tan. Glossy black accents can be found on the steering wheel, HVAC bezels, and instrument panel.
Of course I’ll take the Jeep Grand Cherokee but that Jeep Cherokee Dakar is looking pretty good. In my previous article about the stock Cherokee, I was not a fan but looking at something like the Dakar version, I can live with it.
