On Jupiter’s moon Europa, anything is possible. Anything.
It’s been a while since I’ve shared a movie trailer with you fine fellows, and for good reason: I just haven’t really see anything that gets my motor running. The last trailer I posted was for Elysium, and that’s still many months off. So what the hell can I watch in the mean time?
Europa Report Trailer
Given that the last trailer I posted was for a Sci-fi movie, and that I’m frequently talking about science fiction and technology, you probably won’t be surprised to hear that I absolutely love science, technology, and space… especially space. I’ve kept a keen eye on the Mars Curiosity Rover, and I basically sit here day in and day out waiting for Elon Musk to hurry up and start sending people to that beautiful red planet so very far away.
In the mean time, though… I think I’ve found my fix: Europa Report. Because when you can’t have Mars, the icy waters of Europa, moon of Jupiter, is just as… good?
After having watched that, what did you think?
Europa Report is being directed by Sebastián Cordero, a fellow I’ve never heard of, but the movie looks absolutely incredible in my most humble opinion, and the cast? Brilliant. If you’ve seen District 9, then perhaps you recognize one Sharlto Copley, and if you’ve seen the original version of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, then you no doubt recognized actor Michael Nyqvist as well. Both are tremendously talented, and I’m excited to see them cast for such exciting roles.
Reporting for Duty
Though not quite ready for prime time, Europa Report isn’t too far off either. The movie hits theaters everywhere on August 2nd, 2013. After you’ve spent a long day out in the hot sun (hah, like you’ll actually do that), you can head into the movie theater and watch a small space crew freeze their collective asses off in the depths of space.
Pretty good film, well worth a watch. Wish it showed more of the sub-marine Europa.
5.5/10
Agreed, I would have loved to see more of the actual exploration of undersea Europa.
