Future Skyscraper Construction: Six New Skyscrapers Coming to New York in the Next Few Years

Skyscraper Construction will be going on among New York City residents within the next few years. Between 2019 and 2021, architects are going to design and construction workers are going to work on six different amazing skyscrapers around the city for everyone to enjoy. Some towers will share space with residential apartments, amenities, major store outlets, and even a school will be amongst one of these future skyscraper’s. Here is more information on the six new buildings that are being built in the next few years.

One Manhattan West

One Manhattan West is set to be completed by 2019. It is going to be 995 feet high with 67 floors to it. This beautiful skyscraper is the newest addition to the block and is brought to us by Brookfield Properties. One Manhattan West, as it is called will add 2.1 million square feet to the city and will provide office space for those working in the city. It was designed by Skidmore Owings and Merrill and is expected to receive the LEED Gold status soon. They anticipate its grand opening to be by late 2019 to early 2020. 9-Dekalb Avenue

9-Dekalb Avenue will be coming to us in about one or two years. JDS Development and the Chetrit Group developed it. It will be built in downtown Brooklyn and is going to be 1,066 feet tall. It is going to be made in the place of the Dime Savings Bank Building and will keep much of that base. The 9-Dekalb Avenue tower will leave 100,000square feet of its space for a retail store while the remaining will be for 500 rental apartments for residents.

45 Broad Street

45 Broad Street is 1,115 feet tall and comes built with 68 floors to it. This amazingly tall skyscraper will be coming to us in the year 2021. It is being developed by Madison Equities, Pizzarotti LLC, and AMS Acquisitions as well as the architect company Cetra Ruddy. This impressive skyscraper will be able to be seen by many since it will be staying at the lower end of Manhattan. This 1,115 feet tall tower comes with 401, 477 gross square feet for residential apartments, 62,006 total square feet will go for retail and the remaining 93,894 total square feet will be there for a school. This two will be the second tallest tower after One World Trade Center.

One Vanderbilt

One Vanderbilt is next in line to be the tallest skyscraper right after the Empire State Building and One World Trade Center and will be as tall as 1,401 feet and will provide 58 floors. It will be done by 2021. It is currently under construction in the Midtown East rezoning area. Everyone can’t wait for this one to be built because it comes with an observation deck that overseas 1000 feet above the ground.

111 West 57th Street

The 111 West 57th Street skyscraper will be 1,048 feet tall and brings along with it 82 floors. It is estimated to be finished by 2019 and is currently under construction in Manhattan’s Midtown neighborhood. This grand skyscraper is New York’s take on everything luxurious. It is being designed to allow for 60 residential apartment units where those who get to live here will enjoy a beautiful view. According to Style, this skyscraper will have terracotta works with a fantastic architectural design. Those who get to enjoy habiting this massive skyscraper will have a tremendous view overlooking its neighbor, Central Park through the full glass walls.

Central Park Tower

When Central Park Tower is done in 2020, it will be 1,550 feet tall and have 95 floors to it. This skyscraper was designed by famous designers Adrian Smith and Gordon Gill who are famous for also creating the Burj Khalifa in Dubai. This beautiful tower will bring about 1.2 million square feet with which 695,200 square feet of it will be for residential use. Another 50,000 square feet is set aside for amenities, and another 300,000 square feet will be for Manhattan Nordstrom’s store. This building is going to be the tallest building by roof height in the country and the second tallest in the nation by parapet.
