A television show about dragons, noble families, warriors riding horses, and legendary creatures in the 21st century may appear archaic to some but the worldwide success of Game of Thrones has been nothing less than phenomenal. Critically acclaimed and adored by fans all over the world, the HBO series is now in its seventh and penultimate season. The complexity of the characters, masterful acting, and intense storylines make for compelling viewing week after week.
Given the huge success of Game of Thrones – it is the most popular show on HBO and averages over 18 million viewers for each episode – it was only a matter of time before the US network came up with a spinoff series. It was a smart idea to announce that the eighth season, to be premiered either in 2018 or in 2019, would be the final of the series, as it would not be wise to keep dragging it on more than necessary. A spin-off series not only makes sense to satisfy the appetite of the worldwide audience but it could also be beneficial to keep Games of Thrones relevant in the pop culture and to keep the cash flow intact.
There are as many as five spinoff series in the works at the moment. While Game of Thrones fans will be disappointed to know that none of the characters will feature in them – so no further adventures of Hot Pie or storylines based on Dunk & Egg – but, given the sheer prolificacy of the writers, they can rest assured that the spinoffs will be worth the watch. Of course, just because they are five projects in the works that does not necessarily mean that all five will see the light of day. After the pilots, maybe one or two will actually happen but, for all Game of Thrones fans, it will be worth it.
Game of Thrones spinoff series were always coming, especially given how the success of the television show has translated into other areas of pop culture like video and slot games. In the Game of Thrones slot game, which you can play on the Slots.io website here, the four houses of Westerton, Baratheon, Lannister, Stark and Targaryen all are fighting for the Iron Throne. Among the awarded bonuses available is a Wild Bonus, Stacked Wild Bonus, and Scatter Bonus. It can also be played in two styles, either 243 ways or with 15 paylines.
*SPOILER ALERT*
“I’d say you get used to them…but you never really do.”

Game of Thrones: A Telltale Games Series is one of the most popular video games based on the TV show. Released in 2014 and consisting of six episodes, this game focuses on the characters from House Forrester – a family of minor nobility – with the events considering with those in Season 4. What makes this particular video game so interesting and close to the TV show is that the actors from Game of Thrones actually lend their voices to the characters.
Game of Thrones is a worldwide phenomenon, and one suspects that it is only going to get bigger. There will be demands for dragons and legendary creatures in the coming years, and it will be fascinating to see how the spinoff series fare and the creators too as they move the Game of Thrones story on.
