Casio G-Shock watches are known for their ruggedness and a variety of features; with the increasing popularity of fitness tracking watches, Casio has decided to add a few fitness tracking features to their G-Shock Move line of watches. The Casio G-Shock Move GBD H1000-1A7 is the line’s first watch to feature a heart rate monitor and GPS.
The GBD H1000-1A7 watches come equipped with five optical sensors for monitoring heart rate, bearing, altitude/barometric pressure, temperature, and accelerometer for counting steps. These five sensors help keep you informed on your current activities in real time. The watch is also equipped with a GPS sensor, which lets you know your location, perfect for going places where there are no trails.
In keeping with the times, a G-Shock app is also available now, which helps with configuring the watch more easily and is great for managing your workout. The G-Shock app also lets you customize a fitness training program based on your specific targets.
The Casio G-Shock Move GBD H1000-1A7 comes in the same tough case we’ve come to expect from all G-Shock watches over the decades. These watches come in an all-black or black case with soft urethane white straps with a hint of fluorescent yellow/green near the case. The watch can be charged using solar power and there’s also a USB port for charging. The watches are equipped with high-definition MIP LCD screens for crisp graphics.
I’m glad to see Casio is keeping up with the times and offering watches that have the ability to track things like heart rate, distance walked, and having the ability to connect to an app. The Casio is currently accepting pre-orders for the G-Shock Move GBDH1000-1A7 watches, with an estimated release date of late May, both versions of the watch are priced at $399.99 USD.
